The Rothschild has been recognized as a finalist in the Urban Taskforce Development Excellence Awards for 2025. The development, designed by Candalepas Associates, is known for its architectural style and focus on connected living.
The complex design featured bespoke metal elements including fixed and swing louvre systems, balustrading, and fencing. Metalforge were engaged to provide a regulated design and construct for these elements that met Candalepas specific design requirements. This included new shopfronts to the adjacent heritage building in accordance with heritage requirements.
The Metalforge team were excellent to work with. From the onset, their collaborative approach with Candalepas to ensure the design intent could be met with structural compliance, to the pro-active ideology during installation and completion/certification of the metal elements, they remained calm and responsive to all requirements which included a compressed program.

Designed by award-winning architect Angelo Candalepas, the development comprises 176 beautifully crafted residences across two mid-rise buildings, integrating post-industrial heritage with elevated European influences.
The architectural language here leans on expressive, monolithic forms rather than decorative metal ornamentation, emphasizing clean lines, structural clarity, and surface contrast.
